@AARSuccess REALTOR® Caucus 2017 was held on Thursday, September 7th in Tempe. Members from across the state came together for one day to discuss issues impacting the real estate industry.
The purpose of the meeting is to have agents and brokers discuss not only current issues, but to look ahead at what might become issues of concern in the future. Members break up into regions, discuss and then reunite to report what each is seeing in their area.
Topics discussed included:
- Disclosure issues:
Blank SPDS
Impact of short term rentals - Solar Leases (new AAR Solar Addendum comes out Oct. 2017)
- Water issues across the state. Potable water, wells and access to water
- HOA’s continue to rename fees in order to get around the state law limiting disclosure fees
- Personal Service Tax
- Property tax, sales tax and other tax increases
Appraisals and availability of appraisers - Developer Impact Fees being so high new builds are discouraged
- AAR’s state wide sign ordinance attempt was discussed.
- TPT issues: The Department of Revenue continues to be challenged in collecting, recording and disbursing tax revenues. Property Managers are being billed for properties they do not manage and licensing records are incorrect.
