REALTORS® from across Arizona join up to meet each other and their legislators at the Arizona REALTORS®, REALTOR® Day at the Capitol.
This year I caught up with Representative Tim Dunn (Yuma). He gave us a quick preview of water and agriculture issues we will see in this legislative session.
Water will be a big issue even after the 8 state compact with Mexico is finalized in late January. After January 31, 2019 each state will come up with their own plan for water conservation and use. Arizona lawmakers have been discussing the Drought Contingency Plan for over a year. We will see the State plan go through the approval process this session. From there, each city, county, town and municipality will be working on the details they need to implement.
WeMAR hosted CAP (Central Arizona Project) and the City of Avondale Water Department in May 2017. You can refresh your memory on Arizona’s water system, AMA’s, Assured Water Supplies, and underground recharging by watching the video CAP to Tap.
