October 17, 2018 WeMAR hosted Supervisors Hickman (District 4) and Gallardo (District 5). Our discussion was quite delightful as the two Supervisors demonstrated humor and collegiality.
We discussed a broad range of issues. Election issues were top of mind given the issues in the August 2018 Primary Election and the proximity of the November 2018 General Election.
The Supervisors discussed the election audit, record funding for the elections, the use of tablets and other technology in elections. Supervisor Gallardo worked as part of the Maricopa County election staff under Helen Purcell and was able to give us insight into the process.
We went on to discuss the County budget, homelessness, infrastructure, water, and each Supervisor’s thoughts on the three biggest assets and challenges for their District.
