As you and your clients look at the opportunities, keep in mind it is important to first define what it is the client is trying to accomplish and who their true customer is. There are many more options for locating a small or medium business near or within a community of similar industry or users of their services than ever before.
To find these opportunities early, watch city and county re-zoning activities. You and your clients may find a newly created opportunity.
www.weservgad.org has several city economic development interactive maps you and your clients can access. These maps are usually updated by the economic development department on a weekly basis, so your client should always check directly with the local economic development department to make sure they know what is currently planned for any given area or plot of land.
