Geraldine Peten is the newest member of the Arizona State Legislature. She was appointed on August 16, 2017 to serve the remainder of Representative Jesus Rubalcava’s term (LD 4).
Mr. Rubalcava resigned his seat on July 19, 2017 effective July 28, 2017. Mr. Rubalcava was audited earlier this year by the Clean Elections Commission who found $9,200.00 of expenditures from public campaign finance funds used for personal expenses.
A citizen’s panel created by the County Board of Supervisors, submitted names of qualified candidates to fill the position. The three candidates recommended were: Geraldine Peten, Jennie Ragsdale and Maxine Hill.
Miss Peten has an Ed.D from ASU and is well known in the West Valley education arena. Congratulations to Arizona’s newest State Legislator.
