HUD announce on February 16, 2021 it is extending foreclosure and eviction moratoria to June 30, 2021.
Mortgagee Letter 2021-05 details the extension and also outlines the expansion of forbearance.
For borrowers who requested a forbearance before June 30, 2020 they may now request up to 2 additional 3-month forbearance periods after the initial 12 months of COVID-19 forbearance. The total forbearance period cannot extend past December 31, 2021.
There can be no COVID-19 forbearance extending past June 30, 2022.
