WeSERV Government Affairs and several of our Property Management members (PMCs) have been working with the Arizona Department of Revenue to revise several functions in the TPT process.
Originally, in 2017, we identified 38 items that placed distress on PMCs and property owners attempting to pay TPT in a timely and accurate manner. The DOR systems did not reflect accurate information in several cases, or were confusing causing errors to be made.
One of the biggest headaches for PMCs was the inability to sort a spreadsheet with several properties in an order to easily identify the subject property. The DOR system sorted by license number.
Now, this and other requests such as the ability to view a trial balance prior to TPT submission, will be coming to fruition.
The DOR called WeSERV GAD to tell us about three new training opportunities for PMCs to learn more about the new form. Now PMCs will be able to sort by their own unique identifier and see a trial balance before submitting the TPT spreadsheet.
