In February the Town of Gilbert opened its public survey to get input from the community on an updated transportation plan.
The survey was completed in March and now you can see the data and comments gathered. You can also read documents and FAQs on the Town of Gilbert website. The Transportation Master Plan is expected to be released in the Fall of 2021.
Meanwhile, the voters in Gilbert will see a $515 million bond issue for streets, transportation and infrastructure on the November 2021 ballot.
The bond is a general obligation bond and will be paid back by the secondary property tax at a rate of $0.99 per $100 of assessed value (the current property tax rate). Items covered by the bond issue include: addressing congestion and providing increased roadway capacity, fiber deployment, repair of roadways and traffic signals, Heritage District redevelopment, multi-modal transportation.
