A lot has happened since our last podcast. Fall 2021 proved to be busy and I was able to meet more of our members in person from across our chapters.
In October WeSERV joined the Scottsdale and Phoenix Associations of REALTORS to host a Candidate Training Academy. We also launched our Economic Development Bus Tours, with Avondale our first. During October WeSERV conducted two follow-up meetings for broadband stakeholders in Santa Cruz and Cochise.
WeSERV prepared a rental survey with a letter providing market context to the data for Luke AFB Housing and delivered it to Luke AFB, Senator Sinema, Rep. Lesko, WESTMARC, the City of Avondale, The Chambers of Commerce, and others interested in BAH discussions for Luke AFB.
We hosted another GAD CE event in November at our Peoria office. It was a 3 hour event with attorneys from Fennemore law, and representatives from HUD and Southwest Fair Housing Council.
You can find a complete list of Government Affairs meetings and events on the front page of this website. I hope you can join us this year.
In December, the final redistricting maps were issues by the Arizona Independent Redistricting Commission. Also completed in December was the WeSERV commissioned study of the proposed SR-30. Download a copy of Economic and Fiscal Impacts of the State Route-30 Freeway.
If you would like to be on a Candidate Interview Workgroup in April and May for the August elections, please email me at weservgad@weserv.realtor.
Our next WeSERV Government Affairs event and meeting will be at our Peoria office on Feb. 9th from 9am to 12 noon.
